SAT Requirements
To gain admission to the University of New Mexico, students must meet specific SAT score requirements. The university requires an SAT composite score between 910 and 1350. For competitive programs, higher scores may be needed. For example, students applying to the university's honors program or certain academic departments may need to submit SAT scores that fall within the top percentiles. The average SAT score for admitted students is 1040, with a mid-90th percentile range of 1170-1350. This means that while a score in the mid-1000s is competitive, there are no strict cutoffs. Instead, the SAT is one part of a comprehensive application that also includes essays, recommendations, and transcripts.
